Where FlightLen gets its aviation data
FlightLen combines several kinds of public aviation information: live aircraft position feeds, METAR and TAF weather reports, airport reference data, runway data, and plain-English summaries generated from those values. The site is built for education and situational awareness, not for official flight release or dispatch.
Weather reports
METAR and TAF information comes from AviationWeather.gov. FlightLen keeps the raw report visible because decoded values should always be traceable back to the official text. If a decoded summary and the raw report appear to disagree, use the raw report and official aviation weather source.
Live aircraft positions
Live aircraft positions depend on public aircraft tracking feeds. Coverage is not perfect. Some aircraft may be delayed, filtered, blocked, missing, duplicated briefly, or shown with incomplete callsign, registration, altitude, or aircraft type details.
Airport and runway data
Airport pages use reference datasets for identifiers, names, locations, elevations, and runway layouts. Runway and airport databases can lag real-world construction, closures, magnetic heading changes, or local procedure changes, so official charts and NOTAMs remain the source of truth.
